Kristen is a strategic leader with significant experience in change management, community-engaged organizational design, and launching diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in large organizations.
Kristen started her career as a financial restructuring attorney at an Am Law 50 firm in Washington, DC and returned to Michigan, bringing her legal expertise to the Detroit municipal bankruptcy matter. She transitioned from her legal practice, to serve the Detroit community through public education joining Superintendent Nikolai Vitti as his Chief of Staff. In that work, Kristen led marketing, strategic communications, government and community affairs, equity and civil rights, and compliance.
At Michigan Medicine, Kristen is the lead administrator for OHEI. The OHEI team provides training, professional development, and subject matter expertise with respect to diversity, equity, and inclusion. In addition, Kristen engages with students of all ages through OHEI’s pathways work which seeks to increase diversity in the health sciences. Kristen is a proud Howard University alumna, and earned her Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University. Kristen enjoys spending time with her three young sons and being active in her local community.
