Managing Communication Preferences

Michigan Medicine uses several different communication tools to provide updates on a range of things, from communicating with patients about their health care, to keeping in touch with our medical school alumni, sharing information about breakthroughs and advances in research with peers and collaborators, and more.

You may choose to stop receiving communications from us by following the opt-out instructions that will be included in all communications we may send you.

MyUofMHealth Patient Portal Communication Preferences

You can control how you receive communications from our MyUofMHealth patient portal, including whether you receive emails, phone calls or text messages with notifications and updates.

To manage your patient portal communication preferences, log into your MyUofMHealth patient portal account, select Menu and scroll down to Communication Preferences.

Email Subscriptions and Other Email Preferences

Michigan Medicine, including our various hospitals, departments, centers and institutes, offers a variety of free email newsletters.

To control what emails you receive, click the “Manage Preferences” or “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the email you received.

Text Message Preferences

If you are receiving text messages from us and wish to stop receiving them, simply respond with “STOP” to unsubscribe. Note that several different departments and programs within Michigan Medicine use text messaging to communicate.  Requesting to stop receiving messages from a particular program will only remove you from that specific messaging group.
