Melissa Smith co-hosts “The Four,” an hour-long lifestyle show every weekday at 4 p.m. on 9&10 News in Northern Michigan. When she’s not covering news stories and community features, Melissa loves spending time with her husband, Phil hunting for Petoskey stones along Lake Michigan and hiking the beautiful shores of Port Oneida in Leelanau County.

A devoted animal rights advocate, Melissa loves helping cats and dogs get adopted and considers herself a voice for all animals. She is on the board for the ALS Association Michigan Chapter and emcees the annual Walk MS Traverse City.  Melissa is also involved with the Michigan Acoustic Neuroma Association and attends the support group meetings with the hope of helping other people dealing with an acoustic neuroma. Melissa and Phil currently live in Traverse City with their three favorite little cat girls, Bella, Stella and Lola.
