Translating Research Into Practice
The Annual Conference brings together an interdisciplinary community of health care professionals to share research and best practices aimed at improving adolescent-centered care.
AHI is currently in the process of reimagining and redesigning the Conference to better meet the needs of our community and the youth we serve. To give us time for this transformative work, we are strategically pausing the Conference for 2025, and we are excited to share a new vision of the Annual Conference on Adolescent Health with you all in 2026! Mark your calendars now for our virtual Conference on November 2 and our in-person Conference on November 5–7, 2026.
Each year, the event hosts over 400 attendees from nearly all 50 states and a growing international community.
We hope that you enjoyed the hybrid 10th Annual Conference on Adolescent Health, held on May 6–7, 2024, at the Morris Lawrence Building at Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, MI.

The Annual Conference on Adolescent Health is directed toward physicians, nurses, social workers, registered dietitians, health educators, public health professionals, and all others who work with adolescents in a health care capacity.
The event offers sessions on Primary Care, Mental Health, Sexual & Reproductive Health, School-Based Health, Youth Engagement Strategies, and Community-Based Interventions.
The Adolescent Health Initiative (AHI) at Michigan Medicine established the Annual Conference on Adolescent Health in response to the demand to better equip professionals to address the healthcare needs of adolescents and engage them in their own care. After the activity, participants will implement adolescent-centered strategies for addressing complex issues related to adolescent reproductive and sexual health, behavioral/mental health, school-based and community health, primary care, and substance use, and the proportion of patients receiving ascent-centered services will be improved.

I appreciated the space to talk about topics that might not otherwise be discussed—it was a thought-provoking conference and AHI was thoughtful in their approach to including and valuing diverse viewpoints.
Powerful. Bold.
First, I want to say that this was one of the best conferences I ever attend because of the youth engagement. Young people were integrated into the presentations, workshops, and throughout in an intentional and respectful manner. Hearing their questions and seeing their participation. leadership, poise, and professionalism were just so amazing and fulfilling. I've been raving to my co-workers about the conference since participating. I have shared the handouts and met with my staff to see if we can strengthen our approaches around youth engagement. It was fantastic to see young people acknowledged for their ideas, feedback, and talents.
